Eternal romantic Luke Dallow loves nothing more than long walks along the beach with his beautiful wife and watching the sun set.

So in a bid to help others discover love this Valentine’s Day, Luke is running the first annual Single’s Awareness Day at his Federal Street venue Red Hummingbird.

Kiwis seeking love are encouraged to bring in a photo of their ex to Red Hummingbird on Tuesday 14 February - and the good people at Hummingbird will shred it while the erstwhile lover enjoys a complimentary Valentine’s cocktail.

If the tragically spurned then happens to find love at Hummingbird that night, they will be entered in a draw to win a mystery trip for two with Air NZ.

All-in-all, a brilliant nod in the direction of the day that celebrates eternal love and also a chance to make new friends.
